Why your order arrives in separate parcels
If you buy a wool sweater and a cast iron skillet in the same basket, you will get two boxes, probably on different days, from two different states. Here is why we have not “fixed” that.
There is no central warehouse
A conventional retailer buys stock, holds it, and ships it from one place. We do not buy stock. When you order, the maker who made the thing packs it and posts it.
What that costs and what it buys
The cost is convenience: multiple tracking numbers. What it buys is that makers keep their margin, control their own quality, and never have to guess demand twelve months ahead.
